A specialist in English traditional music and as well as being a performer in his own right, has provided music for radio, television and theatre. Nick’s work draws on a broad knowledge of English vernacular music, from medieval balladry to music hall songs of the early 20th century, and he is sought after both as a dance musician and interpreter of traditional song. He has released three solo albums of English folk songs, all of which have garnered widespread critical acclaim.

He has worked as an actor musician, most notably in Shakespeare in Love at the Noel Coward theatre and A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic, and his work as a composer and musical director has seen him providing music for shows by Flabbergast and Iris theatre, as well as Impermanence contemporary dance company.
